We are looking for exceptional ER veterinarians to join our exponentially growing ER practices. Our flagship hospital is Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty in the heart of Colorado Springs’ booming population. We also have two satellite ER/Urgent Care clinics on the north and west sides of town. All of our clinics offer full service emergency medical and surgical care. Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty is a 24 hour emergency and referral center, while our satellite clinics, Uintah Pet Emergency and Tri Lakes Animal Emergency Care, are open evenings and weekends. Our ideal DVM candidates are confident, easy going and ambitious and also enjoy working with clients and appreciate the importance of the client-doctor relationship. Previous veterinary experience is recommended, but an exceptional new graduate will be considered. We offer a very desirable work schedule with abundant time off to facilitate a healthy work-life balance.
All three of our ER practices offer referral services in surgery, rehabilitation, neurology, internal medicine, cardiology and radiology (CT/MRI). Our ER hospitals are the heart of our practice and are completely integrated with our specialty departments. That’s because we are ONE - One team. One purpose. One patient at a time. Other important ‘ones’ include: •One ownership model. We all work for one hospital and our patients belong to all of us. •One call, text or email is all it takes to be introduced to real people who care – for their co-workers, their community, and love caring for animals in such a beautiful place. •One life to live. We believe that we must surround ourselves with people and places that enrich our lives and bring out the best in us. Colorado Springs and our ER hospitals do both.
Colorado Springs is home to Pikes Peak at 14,297 feet in elevation, Garden of the Gods, US Olympic Training Center, Space Foundation Headquarters and Discovery Center, US Air Force Academy, and so many more special places making it a spectacular place to call home – not just vacation. For outdoor enthusiasts, we are only a quick two hour drive away from world renowned Breckenridge Ski Resort and close proximity to other world famous ski resorts. There are over 100 miles of hiking, running, and biking trails right in our backyard. US News has recently ranked Colorado Springs as the #1 “Most Desired Places To Live.” Our view of Pikes Peak is breathtaking! A short hour drive to Denver allows easy access to "big city life". Our scheduling is based on balance of life and work. Our current needs are primarily for full time ER veterinarians, but part time positions would be considered for exceptional dedicated candidates. All DVM positions are offered a base salary and a very competitive monthly percentage bonus without negative calculations. Our ER doctors do, on occasion, rotate through all three ERs, but this is fairly limited as we prefer to provide a ‘home base’ for our doctors. We will consider a signing bonus and/or moving expense assistance for the right candidate. If you have interest in working and living in one of the best places in the country, then please respond to this ad with your CV and a cover letter. For direct contact, please contact Dr. Jennifer Price: phone 719-314-8974 (cell); 719-473-0482 (work). Thank you for your interest.

About Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty
Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty (PPERS) is a 24 hour emergency veterinary practice with integrated specialty services. With over 100 staff members, including 14 full time ER veterinarians, we are able to offer gold standard patient care within our community and beyond. Despite our large size, the ER department is very tightly knit and offers a very familial, comforting environment. We are always open to exceptional candidates to join our family.
PPERS was founded in 2005. It has grown from one full time doctor (our owner Dr. Lee Wilwerding) to 14 full time ER doctors and counting. We now also boast a wide array of specialty services including neurology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and soon-to-be cardiology. Our ER doctors do have a wide and variable surgical patient load and have the option to call in our soft tissue surgeon when needed. The ER and specialty services are very closely integrated to facilitate a very streamlined approach to our patient care. PPERS also has two satellite urgent care clinics that together allow us to provide emergency veterinary services to the entire Colorado Springs metropolitan area as well as western mountain communities and the southern Denver suburbs.
