Veterinary Technician - Licensed
Button Veterinary Hospital
We are seeking two licensed veterinary technicians for a privately-owned, small animal practice in Tacoma, WA. Full-time preferred, but Part-time also available. Button Veterinary Hospital is a well-established (est. 1920!), full-service, 3 to 4 doctor small animal practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We schedule mainly by appointments but also accept occasional walk-ins based on urgency/availability. Our current open hours are Monday-Friday, 9-6 and eventually hope to be back open on Saturdays, 9-1. We understand the importance of a work-life balance so we try to schedule staff and appointments so that staff is able leave within 0-15 minutes of their scheduled time off, although occasionally there is an exception due to the nature of the business. We historically have a low turnover rate, but our dedicated lead technician of the last 30 years is now retiring. Button has an excellent reputation in the community for providing quality veterinary care to our patients and personal service to our clients. Our team is compassionate, ethical, and honest and we understand the deep importance of the human-animal bond. We strive to provide progressive, high-standard medicine while accommodating the different needs/resources of our clients. While we are not perfect (as none are), we truly are a unique practice in the dying breed of privately owned veterinary practices and truly value our employees, patients, and clients. Qualities we are seeking in our technician are: team-player, positive attitude, excellent technical skills, detail-oriented, good communication skills, professional demeanor, motivated/self-starter, ability to multi-task and adapt to different doctors, hard-working, reliable, and an understanding of the importance of quality client/patient service. Your responsibilities include those that are standard to a licensed veterinary technician, with the potential of advancing to a lead role that includes additional management duties and responsibilities. As a technician you are expected to work closely and communicate well with the doctors and assistants to help manage/delegate patient care efficiently. We offer a competitive hourly wage and generous employee discount for personal pets. Full-time employees also receive 80% paid dental/vision insurance, 75% paid medical insurance, paid Holidays, paid vacation, uniform allowance, CE allowance, and paid VT state license. We also hope to offer a 401k plan in the future. If you are looking for a great, fun team to work with and you think you might be a good fit for our hospital, please submit your cover letter and resume to our practice manager, Debby Phillips.
