Job Description:

VCA Woodbridge Animal Hospital is seeking an Assistant Medical Director to join our AAHA-accredited, 24/7, hybrid General and Emergency Practice in Northern Virginia! 

Our well-equipped 24/7 hospital is growing and currently boasts a team of 15 veterinarians, 9 Licensed veterinary technicians and 30 members of our support team.  Our team's focus is patient care and progressive medicine. We are looking for a positive leader who believes in a team mentality to produce the best patient care. Our daily rounds are focused on learning and providing the best treatment plan for our patients.

The Assistant Medical Director will be responsible for:

  • Promoting a positive environment with the team and being a liaison between departments
  • Assisting Medical Director in mentoring new doctors as that need arise
  • Assisting technician supervisors in Technician training  
  • Assist in handling medical complaints regarding patient care from clients
  • Updating and writing medical SOPs
  • Assisting with AAHA inspection
  • Attending hospital leadership meetings
  • Assisting in medical record auditing and controlled drug record keeping
