Seeking associate veterinarian: Virginia Equine is a busy 4 doctor practice located just outside the city of Richmond, VA. Our historic state capital is an ever-growing city, popular for its many upscale local culinary options, its breweries, river walk and great shopping. Richmond places you only a little over an hour from both the Blue Ridge mountains as well as Virginia Beach. This makes our area an ideal living place for both the city dweller as well as the lover of outdoors, whether it’s the mountains or beach that is your thing.

            Virginia Equine sees a wide variety of equine disciplines with show hunters being the most predominant. While we are located in the heart of foxhunting country we see everything from this type to rodeo horses, Thoroughbred race horses, dressage horses and back yard pets; meaning we truly work for all types. About 80-90% of our case load is ambulatory. We have a 4 stall clinic for non-critical cases which also houses a padded drop stall in which we perform minor surgeries such as distal limb procedures, enucleations, etc. We are proud to offer the following imaging capabilities: 3 digital radiograph machines, 3 digital ultrasounds, both a 1 meter and 3 meter endoscope. Given that a large majority of our work is sport horse/lameness oriented we strive to always have the most current equipment in this field so that each of our veterinarians can offer high quality medicine to their patients.

            We are seeking someone to come join our team for the long haul. We are a warm and mentoring group and look forward to bringing someone in that can learn from us as well as us from you. At least one year of internship is preferred for this position but other applicants may inquire. Rotating emergency duty is shared. Salary is based on experience and interview.
