The Lancaster County Career and Technology Center has an anticipated vacancy for an Attending Veterinarian at the Willow Street Campus effective December 18, 2023. Come be a part of instructing and training our future Veterinarian Technicians!
The Attending Veterinarian prepares our next generation of Veterinarian Technicians to provide patient management, care, and clinical procedures. Instruction includes animal nursing care, animal health and nutrition, animal handling, clinical pathology, radiology, anesthesiology, dental prophylaxis, surgical assisting, clinical laboratory procedures, office administration skills, patient and owner management, and applicable standards and regulations. The attending veterinarian is responsible for the well-being and clinical care of animals used for teaching in the Veterinary Technology Program. This responsibility extends to monitoring and promoting animal well-being at all times during animal use, and during all phases of the animal’s life. The program of veterinary care will uphold the highest standards of care and ethics.
Qualifications:
VMD/DVM from an AVMA accredited College of Veterinary Medicine
Current PA Veterinary license and 6+ years of professional experience in the veterinary field
Experience with IACUC and Animal Use Protocol development and adherence
Thorough knowledge of federal regulations and their implementation
Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance environment
Ability to attain DEA license
Previous veterinary teaching experience preferred
Experience with large and small animal medicine and surgery preferred
Demonstrated excellence in problem solving
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with others as part of a team
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
Valid PA Driver’s License
Child Abuse, PA Criminal, and FBI clearances dated within one (1) year of start date; ability to obtain required physical and TB test prior to start date.
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 annual salary; based on experience and education
Schedule: Monday- Friday; 37.5 hours per week; 260 days per year
