We invite veterinary anesthesiologist and pain management specialists to join our anesthesia team. We have an amazing team that includes a board-certified anesthesiologist and highly skilled, experienced, and dedicated veterinary technicians, two of which are RVT, VTS (Anesthesia/Analgesia). We recognize and value our team as key to the smooth flow of this unit. The service is well equipped and provides service for a diverse caseload of companion, exotic, equine, and farm animal patients. The candidate will contribute to making this the service to envy.
You will have the opportunity to develop an innovative teaching program supported by an enthusiastic group of educational professionals in our Office of Curriculum and Educational Support https://vetmed.okstate.edu/about/oces.html as well as participate in collaborative research/scholarship activities if desired. Development of an internship or residency program will be supported.
This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package, including 4 weeks of vacation, start-up funding for research endeavors if desired, and an equipped office. The number of weeks on duty is flexible and can be tailored to the applicant’s interest. Funding support for professional development is provided. The ability to do up to 4 weeks of consultation work outside our referral area is also included. Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience and contingent on available funding, including consideration of previous accomplishments towards future promotions.
Applicants must possess a DVM degree or equivalent. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) or European College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) is highly desirable; however, individuals who have completed residency training and are board-eligible will be considered. Eligibility for faculty licensure in Oklahoma is required.
