About Pikesville Animal Hospital

At Pikesville Animal Hospital, we have been proud to serve the Baltimore area with exceptional veterinary care for over 15 years. Founded by Dr. Carey Zumpano, an ABVP-certified veterinarian with 27 years of experience, our hospital is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical, diagnostic, surgical, and dental services to our patients. We strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for pets and their families while ensuring our facility is functional and efficient for our team.

Located in Pikesville, MD, a vibrant suburb of Baltimore, our hospital is easily accessible from various neighborhoods, including Catonsville, Owings Mills, Towson, Timonium, and Lutherville. Our diverse community offers excellent public and private schools and provides the option of rural living for those who prefer a quieter lifestyle.

Additionally, Dr. Covert provides acupuncture, and we offer Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, enriching our approach with alternative treatment options. 

Equally vital to our success is our highly skilled and dedicated support team. Our hospital is home to seven Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), and we foster a culture that prioritizes continuous growth and skill development for all team members, from CSRs to veterinary assistants. This commitment to excellence ensures we provide the highest quality care for our patients and their families.

About You

You are a licensed veterinarian in good standing with the State of Maryland, dedicated to practicing high-quality, evidence-based medicine. A lifelong learner, you value clear and effective communication with both clients and staff. You are patient with pet owners, even the difficult ones, and maintain a positive attitude in the exam room and treatment areas. Our team thrives on collaboration, so if you enjoy teaching others, you’ll fit right in.
