Description
VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing Medical Oncology Service!Schedule: Full-Time opportunities available, 4 x 10-hour weekday shifts, no scheduled weekends.
Compensation: $23-33/hour. Starting pay is determined by licensure, skill set, and years of experience.

As a Medical Oncology Veterinary Technician, you'll work alongside two board-certified Medical Oncologists and a board-certified Radiation Oncologist, providing compassionate care to pets throughout every stage of their cancer journey. You'll build lasting relationships with patients and their families while utilizing advanced treatments and cutting-edge medicine in a collaborative specialty environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist with oncology appointments, diagnostics, chemotherapy, and advanced treatments.
- Safely administer and monitor chemotherapy while following safety protocols.
- Be proficient in anesthesia, sedation, anesthetic monitoring, and patient recovery for advanced procedures.
- Place IV catheters, collect laboratory samples, administer medications, and provide exceptional nursing care.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team.
- Educate and support clients throughout their pet's treatment journey.
- Collaborate with specialists across multiple departments to provide outstanding patient care.
